China smartphone market in Q3 2019; Huawei 42% market share

Worldwide smartphone shipments increased 0.8% year over year in Q3 2019 after seven quarters of decline and Huawei doubled down on China, according to IDC. In total, companies shipped a total of 358.3 million smartphones during the quarter, which was up 8.1% QoQ.

Xiaomi in Q2 2019: smart hardware, IoT, AI, internet services

Xiaomi’s monthly active users (“MAU”) of MIUI reached 278.7 million, an increase of 34.7% YoY. AI assistant “ Xiao’ai ” had 49.9 million MAU; Xiaomi ranked 4th globally in terms of smartphone shipments; and, global shipments of its smart TVs reached 2.7 million units.
