    Minor Flood Warning For The Severn River

    MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT ASHFORD
     Rainfall in the past 24 hours with wet catchments, combined with spills from Pindari Dam and rapid rises along the upstream tributaries has caused minor level flooding along the Severn River at Ashford.
     Rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast in the next 24 hours which may result in further river level rises.
     The Bureau is closely monitoring the situation and will issue revised predictions where necessary.
    
    Severn River:
    Minor flooding is occurring along the Severn River at Ashford.
    The Severn River at Ashford is expected to reach around 3.50 metres overnight Thursday into Friday with minor flooding, further rises are possible.
    
    Flood Safety Advice:
    In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
     * Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
     * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
     * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
     * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
